JACKSON VA CENTER AND HOSPITAL
American Legion Post 112 proudly sponsors Veteran Bingo on the first Tuesday of each month at the GV (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson. This monthly event gives veterans a chance to relax, enjoy fellowship, and have some fun.
Post 112 provides goody bags and drinks for all participants, making the day extra special. Through this program, we continue our mission of honoring and supporting veterans by bringing a little joy and community spirit into their day.
Our members regularly volunteer time and resources to assist with programs that directly benefit veterans receiving care at the facility. From participating in special events and holiday activities to delivering donations and visiting patients, Post 112 works to ensure that veterans feel remembered, respected, and appreciated.
MISSISSIPPI VETERANS NURSING HOME
The members of American Legion Post 112 are proud to support the residents of the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Jackson. Each month, on the second Thursday, our Legionnaires and Auxiliary host a lively game of Bingo, bringing fun, fellowship, and friendly competition to the residents.
In addition to Bingo, we help celebrate birthdays in a special way. Each month, residents are honored with birthday cake, ice cream, and cards to let them know they are remembered and appreciated. These small tokens of kindness bring joy and comfort, reminding our veterans that their service and sacrifices will never be forgotten.
Post 112 remains dedicated to serving veterans in our community—not only by honoring their past service but also by supporting their well-being today.
VA Food Pantry
American Legion Post 112 helps keep the VA Food Pantry stocked with essential groceries and household items for veterans in need. Everyone is encouraged to donate non-perishable food items—please check expiration and “use by” dates to ensure all contributions are safe and usable. Your donations provide much-needed support and show our veterans that their service is remembered and appreciated.
VA Donations and Other programs
American Legion Post 112 is committed to serving veterans in many ways beyond the VA Food Pantry. We support programs for homeless veterans, provide assistance and resources for women veterans, and donate comfort items to brighten the lives of those who have served. Everyone is encouraged to help—whether by donating items, non-perishable foods, or comfort supplies, or by volunteering time to assist with these programs. Your contributions and involvement make a meaningful difference, ensuring that all veterans feel remembered, valued, and cared for.
